Is He Here Yet?
YES!!!
Unfortunately, I do not have a video update but I will tell you in written form for now. Our newest addition is Alexander Shane Koroknay. He clocked in on April 17, 2012 at 6:32 a.m.; weighing 8 lbs 6.5 oz and measuring 21 1/4 inches long (I might have told some that he was 21 1/2 inches long. Sorry.)
That morning, I woke up to a slight "peeing" feeling that I could not control but it didn't gush out. I walked around and mostly stayed in the bathroom. We called the midwife around 2:50 a.m. and asked what we should do. She said to monitor the "leaking" and possible contractions throughout for an hour and then call her back. Even though I didn't have contractions, the water leaking lasted about 30 minutes until pink show started to appear. I called her and she said to come on up. We called Eric's mom to come watch Gavin while we check out what was going on. We weren't sure if we were coming home to rest or not.
We got to the birthing center around 4:00 and I was immediately given anti-biotics for Group B. Yes, I am a carrier. As soon as we were done, contractions were coming kinda strong and very consistent. Our midwife said that we could either go home or stay. We opted to stay because we had no idea how long it was going to take.
Let's just say that it didn't take long at all. By 6:32, I had already birthed my second child into this world. We had a successful (yet unplanned) water birth that included yet again horrible back labor. Alex came out blue as a blueberry covered with a ton of vernix and a full head of black hair! The cord was wrapped around his neck when he came out but it was not around tight enough for the fetal monitor to know. His heartrate was perfect throughout.
As much as I would like to update you on how Gavin did, I want to keep this entry about Alex. I will include more pics and vids later.

Mini Watermelon
Our Baby at 39 Weeks:
Your baby's waiting to greet the world! He continues to build a layer of fat to help control his body temperature after birth, but it's likely he already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.(courtesy of www.babycenter.com)

Leek
Our Baby at 38 Weeks:
Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and he's over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). He has a firm grasp, which you'll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby's eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If he's born with brown eyes, they'll likely stay brown. If he's born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he's 9 months old. That's because a child's irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after he's born, but they usually won't get "lighter" or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.)

Gavin - Easter Egg Hunt and First Day of School
Sunday was full of fun! We woke up, had an Easter egg hunt and got ready for church. We attended a lovely church service then headed over to my dad's for a short visit. There, Gavin got his first remote control car/truck! Then we headed to my mom's for a late lunch/early dinner. We were able to see family we haven't seen in awhile and it was a pleasant visit that included more goodies for Gavin. Afterwards, we headed to Eric's mom's house for a quick swim (Gavin that is), an Easter egg hunt, dinner and even more goodies for Gavin! After clean up, we headed to Eric's uncle's house for a quick stop to visit with family from out of town. They played a little cornhole, threw the ball around, took a few family group photos and then headed home. We had to make sure Gavin got plenty of rest before his big day (The First Day of School!).
This morning was alright. I got ready for work while Eric made Gavin's breakfast and lunch. Then we got Gavin dressed and excited for school. Once we got there, he was a little shy but he gave us both a hug and a kiss and was well on his way to start the day. Me, on the other hand, I was crying like a baby in the hallway, watching my little boy grow up before my very watery eyes. Ugh! I was a wreck! I know my little socialite is doing well and hopefully he'll have stories to tell me about his first day!

Baby Shower for Baby #2
This past Saturday, my family threw me a baby shower! We were so blessed to have friends and family attend. We were also heavily showered with gifts and believe me, that car seat is FINALLY installed! Here are a few pictures and a video of our time....

Indoor Soccer and Dinosaurs
Last Friday, March 30th, we met up with our church's youth group for Indoor Glow Soccer. We brought Gavin and he got to play while the lights were still on. Once those lights went off and the black lights went on, Gavin was ready to go.
Then Saturday afternoon, we went to one garage sale and they had this scary dinosaur for 25 cents. Can't beat that! Gavin was imitating it and then got bored. Watch and see....

Packed Bag + Swiss Chard
Our Baby at 37 Weeks:
Your baby is now considered "full term," even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. (Some babies need a bit more time, though. So if you're planning to have a repeat c-section, for example, your practitioner will schedule it for no earlier than 39 weeks unless there's a medical reason to intervene earlier.)Your baby weighs 6 1/3 pounds and measures a bit over 19 inches, head to heel (like a stalk of Swiss chard). Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don't be surprised if your baby's hair isn't the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz.
