Today was my first day back to work! Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing but it felt like I never left for 6 weeks. I kinda just picked up where I left off. So work was not a big deal. It was saying good-bye to Alex that was a heart crusher.
I think I was a little anxious to start the day today because I woke up at the crack of dawn. I made three lunches, installed the car seat base in Eric's car, packed Alex's diaper bag, jumped in the shower and fed Alex before the two of them left. Watching them leave was a little difficult with tears running down my face but then I realized that I had to get myself ready for work and a 3 year old ready for school in only 30 minutes! Looks like waking up that early didn't help one bit but the busyness helped me stay distracted.
This past weekend, we accomplished something new with minor accidents....POTTY TRAINING!!! It has been so cool to watch Gavin develop the natural awareness of having to urinate. At first, we had to guess when he had to go because he would dance around the living room and occasionally hold his private parts. Then after he would answer "Yes, I have to go potty," we would rush to the bathroom with success! The minor accidents occurred if he couldn't hold it long enough or if it was mistaken as a pee-pee for a poop (that's a story to tell through a video!) Now, he tells us that he has to go and we make a big deal out of it! So this morning, we packed extra underwear and extra clothing just in case of those accidents mentioned earlier.
I'm thankful that this week is a short one. It was also a short week when I returned to work after my maternity leave with Gavin. The similarites astonish me! I do have a few photos but I am unable to download them at the moment. I am planning on doing a video update soon and will probably start a weekly weight loss video as well. 15 pounds to go! Take care and I'll talk to you soon!
Is it Friday yet?
