Some Mornings

Some mornings, Gavin wakes up way too early!  He's learned to not yell for us anymore and instead will crawl out of bed and head straight for the couch.  I'm usually out there with Alex (either feeding or sleeping or both) so Gavin is not afraid to wander in the dark.  He'll want to watch "td" or tv and eventually he'll fall back asleep.  I had to get ready for work on one of those early mornings and I was able to capture this before doing so.

My two tired boys....  Lately, I've been telling people how exhausted I am and believe me, I truly am!  However, I am thoroughly enjoying this time and wouldn't trade it for anything.  Here's a picture of Alex and Daddy.

Can you see how big Alex's cheeks are?!  Poor kid is taking after his parents big time!

Gavin's Quirks - Quirk #1

Gavin has been doing this since he was 18 months old.  Doctor said if I can distract him and get his attention away from the Line then I have nothing to worry about.  It's when he's so deeply focused on the Line that I should let the Doc know.  It's kinda freaky when you turn your head doing something else and then you turn back and there's a line of cars in the middle of your house.  They all have to be facing the same way and cannot get out of the line.  At least he doesn't have to have them in size order yet.  Do I have an OCD child?!

Our "God" Conversation

Gavin: Mommy, where's God?
Me: He's all around.
Gavin: No, He died.  He died on a cross.
Me: Well, technically, yes He did.
Gavin: Trust God.  Jesus loves me because the Bible tells me so.

The next day.....
Gavin: Mommy, Jesus died.
Me: He did?!
Gavin: Yes, He did.  He died.
Me: Who did He die for?
Gavin: Jesus died for me.  And for Alex.  And for Daddy.  And even for you, Mommy!

I am SO enjoying these little conversations!

Be A Better Dad Today!

The company I work for mainly promotes Christian literature.  We have a website (mainly geared toward women) that encourages us to make more out of life.  It is a faith-based website and it's filled with stories and articles about life, the world, health, money, family, etc.  This month, we're promoting a book, titled "Be A Better Dad Today!" by Gregory W. Slayton; most likely because Father's Day is coming up.  Anyhow, he wrote an article for us that applies to anyone who's a dad.  And I've learned that the time spent with my dad is so important, no matter how old I am!  Here's the article (and be sure to check out the website!):

Good Mornin'

At 7 Weeks, we were getting ready to start the day! I have a feeling these two will become great friends.  Alex does smile a lot....just not when I'm taking a picture apparently.
